It's a BOY???

Pregnancy 16 Weeks: I just couldn't wait any longer. I needed to know what we were having. The problem? My doctor wouldn't tell me the gender until I was 20 weeks. I had heard about this great place that did elective ultrasounds to determine the gender as early as 13 weeks. At 16 weeks I figured they would for sure be able to tell. So we went. I was 99% positive we were having a girl. Mother's intuition or something like that.
The ultrasound tech proclaims...It's a BOY! My heart sunk. But I was positive it was girl, I kept thinking in my mind. I ask her, "ARE YOU SURE?? Give me a percentage of accuracy..." All she responds with, "Sweetheart, girls don't have those." I believed her, I mean they're the pros right?

Clearly from the pictures, it was a boy. We didn't even question it. I started to get excited. I became attached to my little boy Grayson. Scott was thrilled! We were going to have our little surfer boy. I went to town. I bought an entire closet of Hurley and Quiksilver baby clothes.

Well apparently GIRLS do have THOSE!!
Pregnancy 20 Weeks: At my doctor's ultrasound this week, we were informed it was a GIRL. HUH?? I ask, "Are you Sure??" I mean... WHAT??? (Scott is completely silent. He has fallen into shock). The tech looks again. She cannot find a protruding object anywhere on the little body. She says, "I clearly see three lines." (meaning it's a girl). She spends an hour with us, moving the ultrasound around and around my belly. We saw the baby in every position. There was no little boy peepee.
So we went back to the first elective ultrasound facility. I needed another opinion. We didn't tell them what we had just found out. Another ultrasound confirmed, it was a girl. Pretty sure Scott had a heart attack that day.

It must have just been a hand down there. Maybe she was flipping us off, who knows. I have had a roller-coaster of emotions these past few days. So for now, it's a GIRL! Maybe when the baby is born, it will be a boy. Who knows? All we know for certain is we are 100% excited and we will love whoever decides to come to our little family!! (as long as it's not both genders, yikes).
