Are You Sure??

It's a BOY???

Pregnancy 16 Weeks: I just couldn't wait any longer. I needed to know what we were having. The problem? My doctor wouldn't tell me the gender until I was 20 weeks. I had heard about this great place that did elective ultrasounds to determine the gender as early as 13 weeks. At 16 weeks I figured they would for sure be able to tell. So we went. I was 99% positive we were having a girl. Mother's intuition or something like that.

The ultrasound tech proclaims...It's a BOY! My heart sunk. But I was positive it was girl, I kept thinking in my mind. I ask her, "ARE YOU SURE?? Give me a percentage of accuracy..." All she responds with, "Sweetheart, girls don't have those." I believed her, I mean they're the pros right?

Clearly from the pictures, it was a boy. We didn't even question it. I started to get excited. I became attached to my little boy Grayson. Scott was thrilled! We were going to have our little surfer boy. I went to town. I bought an entire closet of Hurley and Quiksilver baby clothes.

Well apparently GIRLS do have THOSE!!

Pregnancy 20 Weeks: At my doctor's ultrasound this week, we were informed it was a GIRL. HUH?? I ask, "Are you Sure??" I mean... WHAT??? (Scott is completely silent. He has fallen into shock). The tech looks again. She cannot find a protruding object anywhere on the little body. She says, "I clearly see three lines." (meaning it's a girl). She spends an hour with us, moving the ultrasound around and around my belly. We saw the baby in every position. There was no little boy peepee.

So we went back to the first elective ultrasound facility. I needed another opinion. We didn't tell them what we had just found out. Another ultrasound confirmed, it was a girl. Pretty sure Scott had a heart attack that day.

It must have just been a hand down there. Maybe she was flipping us off, who knows. I have had a roller-coaster of emotions these past few days. So for now, it's a GIRL! Maybe when the baby is born, it will be a boy. Who knows? All we know for certain is we are 100% excited and we will love whoever decides to come to our little family!! (as long as it's not both genders, yikes).

Well no wonder...

...my pants are just alittletootight.

...I fall asleep at 9pm, don't wake up until 9am, and STILL need a nap during the day to function properly.

...Scott refers to me as the hound dog. I can smell you from a mile away.

...I forgot a doctors appointment, TWICE. I had reminder phone calls the day before, TWICE.

...brushing my teeth is almost impossible to do without gagging.

...I can eat anything with peanut butter on it.

...I have secretly been the happiest girl alive.

We're having a BABY! Scott and I couldn't be more excited to welcome a little one the end of MARCH!

A Tribute to My Hawaii

I need a vacation.
I'm itching to go somewhere.
Particularly Hawaii.
I know, I know we just went there in May.
But I'm ready to go back.
I guess reminiscing will have to do for now.

We stayed at Turtle Bay on the North Shore of Oahu.
A little place I like to call paradise.
We ate LOTS of yummy food.
I fell in love with Hukilau Cafe when I went to school at BYU Hawaii. Their banana pancakes were just as good as I remembered. So was Mosumoto's shave ice, and Shark's Cove Grill, and the Shrimp Shacks, and The Dole Plantation ice cream...I can go on if you like.

We had some fabulous people to hang out with. So glad Tim and Niccole came with us!

The Polynesian Cultural Center night show was just as entertaining the 10th time as it was the first time.

We watched many sunsets and pondered how we were going to tell work and our parents we weren't coming back to the mainland. Well, not really. But we wanted to.

Dole Whip ice cream, I love you. As if you can't tell.

Scott and Tim got lots of surfing in.

Goodbye Hawaii.

I'll see you next year.
(hopefully)

Weekend Getaway

For our birthdays, (they are only a day apart) and our anniversary (a week before) Scott and I like to go away somewhere fun to celebrate. This year we went to Big Bear Resort. We took some friends with us and had a blast relaxing and enjoying the mountain air.

We brought the boat with us and had fun on the lake.
Scott doesn't only surf in the ocean. He's a pro surfer behind the boat too.

Matt and Ani's baby Kate trying on my sunglasses. Hilarious and darling!

The boys tried to save the day when we got locked out of the house. A little boost to the balcony only to find that door locked as well. Eventually we did get in.

My giant cupcake masterpiece!

Such a fun weekend! I think I need another one.

Back to Utah...again

Since we've moved to California, it seems like I'm always traveling back and forth to Utah. I always find an excuse for why I "need" to go back. Mostly it's just to hang with my mom. This month I legitimately had a reason. Natalie and Sam got hitched! It was so fun to share the special day with them!

So Happy!

While we were waiting outside the temple for Natalie and Sam to come
out, we indulged in a little photo shoot. I think this picture sums up
everyone perfectly. Ashley's face makes me laugh every time.

Bridesmaids

Congratulations Natalie and Sam!

The day before Nat's wedding, I got to attend the temple with Ashley for her very first time! She is preparing to go on a mission August 12 to Argentina! I am so excited for her! Big surprise... I will be back in Utah August 5 for her farewell!

Love you girls!

Happiness is...

There's just something about having fresh flowers in the house that makes me happy.
They make Scott have the sneezes and sniffles.
But when I wake up in the morning and come down
to pink, purple, and white deliciousness...
I'm just Happy!
